The Fantastic Nobodies was born in 2003 out of total disillusionment, when the White House increasingly employed Fascist-esque irrational propaganda and media coverage of the war in Iraq resembled B-slasher flicks. In midst of this political zeitgeist, the six founding artists Marc Grubstein, Brock Enright, Steve Johnson, Daniel Joseph, Chad Spicer and David Henry Brown Jr. collaborated to form the Fantastic Nobodies.
For their performances these characters infiltrate existing social situations and public events or create their own situations to set up a stage. These two approaches are used in order to create a total breakdown of existing social barriers between performer and audience. They are creating in this way temporary machines for human imagination.
Photography, polaroids and video record the actions. Oral tradition documents off-camera moments by creating legends that people who witness the actions pass on.
For Operation Shitstorm the Fantastic Nobodies once more invade Berlin on multiple fronts. The main stages will be brot.undspiele galerie in Gartenstr. 2 and a temporary show room in Brunnenstr. 56. Beside that, countless spontaneous performances and actions will happen all around the city and multiple collaborations with berlin artists and mucisians are in development.
