After New York then Basel, Berlin now becomes the stage of instigator David Henry Brown Jr.
brot.undspiele galerie berlin is pleased to present in spiel.13 his newest work PIZZA INFINITY JR. from 27.07. – 24.8. in Gartenstr. 2. David Henry Brown Jr. plays in his work with a global and anarchistic icon: Pizza. The object of his examination looks even in color and texture like a painting. However for David Brown Jr. the image of a pizza is a mirror as well as a portal to his infinite Pizza-Universe: PIZZA INFINITY JR. consists of felt-flags and banners in Childrens-Pop-Art-Style (some of the pieces were made at his IAAB Artists Residency in Basel (Switzerland, 2007) as were installed in an actual Pizzeria in Basel, others were made in Berlin) – extended with Installation, video and performance.
But beware – the works may get you smiling, but they play a tricky game. Under a poppy surface hides a Agent Provocateur, who seduces the centemplator to be part of PIZZA INFINITY JR. But no reason to be afraid – whoever likes Pizza has nothing to fear!!!
