The opening exhibition spiel.01 presents two artists, that belong to different generations (of art), however who are united by an unconventional approach to art, the search for a new reality in art and the ambiguity of of their work – reality and metaphor at the same time.

The presented works seem to be likewise antipoles and complements – the tension that comes up, sharpens the conturs of each work and places them in the same range of interpretation.

In her installation „Knocking on Heaven‘s Door” Kinga Dunikowski materializes the place of Final Truth as purgatory and Heaven‘s Gate, who‘s space-dominating, stilistic aesthetics opens up perspectives as well as ironic positions.

The photoseries „Consumer Art” by Natalia LL from 1972 provokes by showing a young, blond woman eating a banana. The erotic allusion in the apparently „innocent” motive is seduction and trap at the same time.

Kinga Dunikowski (1974) is one of the most interesting newcomer.in artworld.iner works move thetheeen reality and fiction. Situations built with ready elements borrowed from reality and with strategies known from advertising and film gain suggestiveness thanks to the artistic illusion. The public thus becoming often part of the installation.

Kinga Dunikowski studied art history, philosophy and English and American Literature at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University in Bonn (1994–95) and Fine Arts at the Kunstakademie Münster (1995–2001) in class of Reiner Ruthenbeck and Katharina Fritsch. Her work covers installation, video, photography, painting and sculpture and has been shown in many solo- and group exhibitions.

Natalia LL (Lach-Lachowicz, 1937) belongs to the first generation of conceptual artists in Poland. She has been supporting the international feminist art movement since 1975 by participating in numerous symposia and exhibitions. Her work covers photography, painting, drawing, performance and video. Natalia LL‘s installations, photography and performance have been exhibited in some of most prestigious exhibitions and biennials wordwide.
